Event is free, but you must pay admission to the show to attend.
Ms. Nelson is an architectural historian and assistant curator for contemporary art at the Spertus Museum in Chicago. She is the granddaughter of architect Norman M. Giller, who designed over 10,000 structures during his 60-year career including such Miami-area icons as the Diplomat Hotel and the North Shore Band Shell. Mr. Giller passed away on April 18th, but Sarah will be returning from Florida specially to give this talk. She will discuss her new book: Designing the Good Life. Copies of the book will be available for sale, and a book signing will follow.
Keck and Keck Open House Sunday May 4, 2:00 - 4:00 P.M.
CBB members are invited to a special viewing of Keck and Keck’s Thomas Florsheim House, 1960, in Glencoe. The 5-bedroom home has an unusual curved brick, windowless facade, but the south wall has floor to ceiling glass throughout. The current owners have lovingly maintained this home, and furnished it with a magnificent collection of furniture and art. This home is currently for sale, and information is available at www.jetsetmodern.com. Please RSVP to Joan Gand at this email address to reserve your space. This is a free event, and there will be limited availability, first come, first served.
