An Event of Interest to CBB Members:
North Shore Modern: Recent Past Survey Speaker: James Peters, director of preservation planning, Landmarks Illinois Peters will discuss a multi-year surveying effort of the entire Chicago metropolitan area by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s graduate program in Historic Preservation. The survey focuses on architecturally significant non-residential buildings dating from 1935 to 1975--a period commonly referred to as the "recent past." More than 1400 commercial, institutional, office, and religious structures were identified in 26 communities throughout northeast Cook County, Illinois in the first two survey rounds.
