Schweikher and Keck Tour in Glen Ellyn - Sunday Nov. 18

Holiday Party - Sunday Dec. 2

Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007
1:00 - 3:30 pm

Western Suburban Modernism Tour and Reception

Join us for a day of architecture, art and conversations.  First we’ll tour a house designed by Paul Schweikher circa 1953 for Dr. Alfred Schiller, subsequently owned by the Kaberon family for many years, with an addition by Keck & Keck circa 1963.  Talk with the owner about his sensitive rennovation over the past 3 1/2 years, and learn the process followed for National Register nomination and the preservation efforts to save this unique modernist home.  This home is currently for sale, and is located in Glen Ellyn  1pm-2pm

Then join us for a tour and reception at the modernist home and studio of artist Samuel Himmelfarb. He designed the home for his family, circa 1937-1938.  Enjoy the art and architecture while visiting with this family of accomplished artists, at their home in Winfield  2pm - 3:30pm

Admission/donation is $10 per person, payable at the door.
Open to members in good standing, and one guest each.
