Open House Party for CBB members at 2 Modern houses in Highland Park
Spend a Sunday afternoon in two modern homes near Lake Michigan in Highland Park. One is a home for sale, and the other, an exclusive visit and party in a member’s home.
First, enjoy a rare glimpse of art and architecture: an insider’s tour of an original home overlooking Lake Michigan, designed by Stanley Morris circa 1956. The property includes a wonderful open floor plan, private beach, swimming pool on a large wooded lot. Enjoy seeing the original landscape with hardscape designed by Gertrude Kuh. The house design includes walls of sliding glass, hardwood & brick floors, large rooms, a wet bar and a master suite overlooking the yard and lake. Then, just a few blocks away, we will visit a beautifully restored and renovated 1952 Paul Schweikher home. Our host is a CBB member and interior designer. The house has been restored and updated to preserve this beautiful example of rustic modernism. The home overlooks a beautiful wooded ravine, and features many unusual architectural details. 1:30 - 3:30 Refreshments will be served Address will be provided to those attending

You may have seen CBB member June Finfer in the PBS documentary about the Farnsworth House. After developmental readings and workshops on the East Coast (NJ, NY, and MA), with plans for a New York opening, her play about the Farnsworth House will be performed as part of the CHICAGO WRITERS BLOC NEW PLAY FESTIVAL MONDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 15, AT 8 PM THEATRE BUILDING, CHICAGO 1212 WEST BELMONT
