Prairie Modernism:
the Architecture of Edward Humrich

Joan Gand from Chicago Bauhaus and Beyond will present a 45 minute slide show and talk on Edward Humrich, the modernist who designed over 35 homes in Riverwoods. Photos of houses, plans and furniture by the architect will be shown, as well as a discussion of preservation efforts.

Revising Alfred Caldwell

Suggested donation is $10 (Mies members free)
Tour the newly landscaped S.R.Crown Hall and  University Technology Park with Chandra Goldsmith Gray and Sara Dunn. The two architects have taken Caldwell’s original plan and brought it up to 21st century standards.
A screening of the film by June and Paul Finfer, Passionate Nature: Alfred Caldwell’s Chicago Parks will be conducted in S.R.Crown Hall after the tour.
