Highlighting vintage 20th Century furniture, fine arts and decorative arts from 1900-1970, modernism shows attract huge numbers of new and sophisticated modern collectors from across the U.S. and abroad. The shows offer an excellent representation of items from the Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Art Moderne, 50’s, 60’s & 70’s, and Memphis periods.

CBB Event - Russel Wright Slide Lecture
When: Sunday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m.
Where: Chicago Modernism Show: 1418 N. Kingsbury, Chicago

CBB presents a lecture on the life and work of RUSSEL WRIGHT featuring Margaret A. Doyle, Co-President of Manitoga/The Russel Wright Design Center in Garrison, NY

Ms. Doyle has been active in the restoration of Manitoga, where for four decades, Russel and Mary Wright lived, worked and gardened on 75 acres, pioneering the use of native plants and naturalistic garden design, while creating the beautiful design objects we appreciate and collect today.

Reservations are held with paid tickets only. Your ticket will be held at the Chicago Bauhaus & Beyond booth at the Chicago Modernism Show for pickup. This event is open to members, guests, and the general public.

CBB member and RW collector Scott Vermillion will present a "show and tell" of rare Russel Wright design objects.

Refreshments will be served.

Lecture to be held at the Pauline Grace furniture showroom, in the same building as the Modernism Show.

Chicago Art Deco Society Event: "Saving South Beach" by Margaret A.Doyle

CADS and CBB have worked together to bring Margaret Doyle to Chicago for both the Russel Wright lecture for CBB, and this CADS event, which is open to CADS and CBB members, and the general public.

The story of how South Beach in Miami became the largest 20th Century historic district, established in 1976

6:00 p.m. cocktail party, 7:00 p.m. lecture at the Mid-Day Club at the Chase Tower in Chicago

6:00 PM Cocktails-CADS members: $50 per person,
non-members $60 per person.
7:00 PM Lecture only-CADS members $25 per person, non-members $30 per person, full-time students $10 per person.
